Warsaw has been functioning as the capital of Poland since 1592, when after the Wawel Castle fire, king Sigismund III Vasa moved the seat of royal power, institutions here. An interesting fact that only a few people know is that Warsaw was formally made a capital only in 1952, when Boleslaw Bierut was the president. The smallest district is Ursus, which has just over 9km squared, the latest to be granted city rights is Wesoła, which wasn't until 2002. Historians point out that the history of Warsaw dates back to the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries, when the court of the Mazovian princes was established at Jazdów, which today is called Ujazdów. The largest district of Warsaw is Wawer, which covers 79.7 sq km. In the capital of Poland lives the most people who belong to the group of one hundred richest Poles. Warsaw is still a place where the prospects for an international career are much higher than in other Polish cities, due to the fact that it is here located the most corporations, large companies.

Is it worth living in Warsaw and where?

Warsaw is a city of development and numerous opportunities, where there are still the best chances to make a career. No wonder, then, that the capital attracts people from all over the country like a magnet. Although the cost of living is high, it is compensated by high salaries, which usually cannot be counted on by residents living in other urban centers. In the capital you live comfortably, because you can use a number of services without having to leave home, most things can be ordered. Job prospects here are very good, many people who come to Warsaw from smaller towns indicate that the capital city may be a bit overwhelming at the beginning, but be aware that in addition to more densely populated areas, there are also those where you live peacefully. In Warsaw, you can spend your free time taking advantage of the rich cultural offer, because it is here that most noteworthy museums are located, you can also attend literary evenings, use the offers of the best, most respected cafes or go to dances. Every history enthusiast will certainly be satisfied, because you can explore many interesting places, it is here that the Warsaw Uprising Museum is located, the Citadel which is dynamically developing, a number of very modern museums are being built there, in the capital there is the Frederic Chopin Museum, so we can say that the capital will prove to be a satisfactory solution in every respect. Before deciding to live in Warsaw, you should think about whether the commute to your workplace will be good from the place where you will live. If you decide to live in Białołęka, it will be better if you move by car, because bus communication, public transport works here differently. In case you don't have a car, it will be better if you live near a subway line, as it is an excellent solution to get around the capital.

What's the progress on the subway line?

The Warsaw metro is expanding dynamically, there is talk about opening new sections of the second metro line, which are to create a transport link with Bemowo and Bródno. It can be said that the expansion of the Warsaw Metro was one of the priorities set by Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. A modern, fully expanded metro will make Warsaw a modern, fully European city. If the two new sections mentioned above manage to open, the second line will have 19 km. and 18 stations. After this success, all that will be left is the need to run a 4 km long section to Karolin.
