The trend of more well-known, high-profile figures from outside the world of combat sports joining various MMA federations continues at its best. This time we're talking about well-known social activist Maja Staśko, who decided to take part in a gala organized by the High League federation. As it turned out, however - the activist's decision to join an organization promoting a rather controversial approach to combat sports triggered an avalanche of not always positive comments.
Who is Maja Staśko?
Maja Staśko is a Polish influencer, screenwriter and journalist born on September 13, 1990. She is a doctoral student of interdisciplinary studies at the Institute of Polish Philology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. She is also widely involved in social activism. Her activities have aroused a lot of controversy from the beginning, especially because the activist often takes up difficult and controversial topics - and also because she very often gets into rather heated arguments with Internet users. Maja Staśko because it deals with the topics of violence against women, rape, or social injustice in the broadest sense.

At the beginning of August 2022, Maja Staśko announced that she intends to take part in a freak fight MMA gala (i.e. fights organized for celebrities and people recognized for other reasons, rather than professional athletes) organized by the High League federation. Adding spice in the eyes of many is the fact that the fight is being organized by, among others, rapper Malik Montana, known for his sexist comments, with whom Staśko has also had a run-in with in the past.
Announcing his decision, Maja Staśko She noted that she intends to donate part of the money she will raise through this to charity. As the activist revealed, about 20,000 zlotys from her salary will be donated to the Fortior Foundation, which deals extensively with helping men who have experienced violence. The woman stressed that she hopes the funds she donates will raise public awareness of domestic violence against men, as well as help fund training apartments for men who have run away from home.
Another 20 thousand zlotys, meanwhile, is to be given to the Center for Women's Rights. The money is also to be used to help victims of domestic violence. As the Maja Staśko, Its goal is to provide a safe roof over the heads of women who are fleeing abusive partners.

Despite the fact that the activist has decided to donate a not inconsiderable sum from her profits to charity, the biting comments against her have not quieted down.
