For several years now, freak fight galas have become very popular in Poland. There we can see confrontations of youtubers, streamers or other stars from the Internet world. The first such gala in Poland was Fame MMA, and its success encouraged the creation of more federations. Last year we were able to see another one of them, Hype MMA. Who created this gala? Who fought in it? What are the rules? You will find all this information in the article below.
MMA hype - another freak fight gala?
Hype MMA is a relatively new gala that is the "child" of the well-known Fame MMA federation. The organizers decided to create another event to promote new and young stars, which will give them the opportunity to fight in the main Fame MMA gala. The new gala is intended to be something of a "backstory" for Fame MMA. The fighters will advance through the stages until the finals. The prize is a contract to fight in the Fame MMA federation. The hype is supposed to give the young creators a better stratagem. We already know that the owners - Wojciech Gala and Boxdel - keep their federation at a really high level and always surprise their viewers with something. The federation is not only about fights, but also exciting conferences, concerts and other attractions. This was also the case with Hype MMA, which was an event full of emotions.
Who are the owners of Hype MMA?
The faces of the Hype MMA gala are Wojtek Gola and Boxdel, the same people who act as the owners at the Fame MMA gala. However, it should not be forgotten that they are co-owners of the organization, as two businessmen Krzysztof Rozpara and Rafal Pasternak also hold shares in the federation. They, however, are not active on social media and we have little information about them. However, not everyone knows who the stars promoting these federations are. Wojtek Gola is known from the program "Warsaw Shore. Ekipa z Warszawy." Interestingly, Gola was Polish and Czech champion in slopestyle, or freestyle snowboarding. Boxdel, on the other hand, is a very popular youtuber who, in addition to his online activities, runs many other businesses.
First edition of Hype MMA
The first edition of Hype MMA was held in 2021 and provided us with a lot of excitement. It featured fighters who were just starting their careers. Thanks to such an event, they were able to present themselves at their best and promote their business. The arena was specially prepared to make the experience unforgettable. The place where the fight took place, instead of a net, was surrounded by a sloping wall made of sponge. This gave the fighters opportunities to bring down their opponents faster, and the spectators more interesting experiences. Another attraction was that the organizers decided to award fighters with various financial bonuses. Nitro offered 7 thousand for an interesting fight, Boxdel the same amount for the best submission, and Wojtek Gola also gave the same amount to the fighter for further career development.
Hype MMA rules
Hype MMA is a truly unique and original event. Here are the rules of the gala:
- Hype MMA is organized on a seasonal formula. One season consists of as many as 6 galas - five elimination and one final. Each elimination event features six fights and a super fight, a fight between two big stars from the Fame MMA federation.
- At the end of each gala we have 6 winners, that is, after 5 such events there are a total of 30. From among them, the authorities, players and viewers choose the 8 most interesting. Of course, the weight of the votes varies: the viewers 50%, the Fame contestants 15% and the authorities 35%.
- The rulers conduct their voting by deliberation, Fame players receive an internal poll, and viewers vote on the hypemma.tv homepage, also by filling out a poll.
- After voting, 8 fighters are selected to face each other in the finals. The final stage of fighting is divided into 4 semifinals, in 2 weight categories, and 2 finals.
- Two winners receive a contract for 5 fights in Fame MMA.
- The additional winnings will go to two fighters (lucky loosers), who have garnered the affection of viewers as well as authorities and fighters. They will receive a contract for one fight at Fame MMA.
- The last interesting prize is the "Wild Card," or immunity, which Sylvester Wardęga can award once per season, to any player.
Who can attend the gala and how to do it?
The idea behind Hype MMA is to promote new, young people who want to make a name for themselves in the Internet world and beyond. It is intended to be an opportunity for people creating content on Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok or Twitch. Anyone can sign up for the gala, but the organizers will select only the most interesting ones.
To apply, fill out the application form, which can be found at hypemma.tv. In the application, include your name, email, phone number, weight, gender, age and answer the question of whether you have ever fought and indicate the social media you use.
When will the next Hype MMA gala be held?
Unfortunately, it's been a long time since we've had any information on if and when the next Hype MMA gala will be held. At the beginning, the organizers announced that Hype would be held regularly, almost every month. However, it has been more than a year since the last gala, and the federation has not organized any further event.
