High League is one of the federations that has found a way to make its galas also attract the attention of people who are not interested in MMA at all. During the events, people who are absolutely not associated with combat sports fight first of all. Celebrities, influencers and people known from social profiles face each other in the ring.
And it must be said that these characters often show a very strong preparation for battle.
What is freak fighting?
High League is sometimes referred to as a freak fighting gala. In its original meaning, this term can be translated as freak fights. It originated from the fact that people who may actually be a kind of freak in the world of sports often enter the ring. Actors, singers and even more often youtubers or people with Instagram accounts.
They are often selected to be as eccentric and extravagant as possible. Sometimes people with contrasting worldviews - for example, different political views - are brought into the ring against each other. Fans of ring fights often accuse such federations that it is not the sport but the environment around it that is most important in this case. And from this perspective, duels in High League may actually look like a freak show of sorts.
Personalities associated with the High League
High League is based on bringing famous people into the ring. So it's not surprising that many recognizable faces are scrolling through the galas organized by the federation.
Some of them, however, appear in the ring for a while and immediately disappear. Others are associated with the duels almost inextricably.
The function of a kind of ambassador High League full Malik Montana. Among young people, he is a widely recognized person. However, a wider audience is worth introducing him to.
He is a rapper with complicated roots. His father is from Afghanistan, and his mother is part Polish and part Greek. To make matters worse, Malik was born in Hamburg, Germany.
Here one thing is worth emphasizing. The artist does not rap in German, Greek or Pashto. He performs his songs in Polish.
High League In its own way, it was an opportunity for widely known personalities to return in completely new roles. Angela Bogusz can be cited as an example here. On Youtube she was known as Sex Mastertka. In freak fighting galas, she began performing as Lil Masti.
Sometimes figures associated with the sport also entered the ring, which came to light thanks to social profiles. Among others, Robert Burnejka - more widely known as a hardcore cokehead - took part in the fights.
High League - rules
It is also worth mentioning what rules apply during the meetings High League. Because after all, some rules must apply....
Some fights are held according to the rules of boxing or Thai kickboxing. Usually, however, the rules known from MMA apply.
And here it falls to mention what the latter is.
MMA is the acronym under which Mixed Martial Arts, or Mixed Martial Arts, is hidden. When it first appeared, it was already a kind of controversy in itself.
This is because there are very few restrictions in it.
This type of fight sometimes pits boxers and adepts of Brazilian ju-jitsu against each other. One tries to win the fight with left straights. The goal of the others is to bring the opponent down to the first floor and immobilize him.
In practice, it very often turns out that, in fact, those who use many different techniques at once have the best chance of winning.
The advantage is gained by fighters who can handle punches and kicks well, but who can handle close quarters or even the first floor if need be.
And here the question arises whether all blows are allowed in MMA. It must be admitted that the sport actually allows a lot. You can use fists, legs, leverage and strangulation. Forbidden, however, are biting, blows to the genitals and, in some cases, elbow strikes.
The fight goes on until submission or knockout (although the latter can also be technical). If the duel does not end in a clear victory before time, the winner is chosen by the judges.
Open for low-growth
Freak fighting galas try to attract attention to themselves, and they absolutely do not hide about it. High League is no exception in this case. The federation has stirred up controversy by, among other things, announcing the fight of low-grade people.
And here, of course, there will be the question of who are the low-growth people. They have been with us for generations - probably even forever. At the same time, until recently, a term was used for them that they themselves do not accept. Low-growers are people affected by achondroplasia. A specific condition that makes them have shorter limbs and are generally shorter (no surprise here). Circumstantially, short people are often referred to as dwarfs. However, it is worth emphasizing at every turn that this is a derogatory word.
W High League Mini Majk, known from youtube, and Maciej "Big Jack" Jareme clashed with each other. Here one could discuss at great length, about this type of fights. On the one hand, they seem to be using the disease to promote their own event. And on the other hand, in their own way, they give those affected by the affliction a chance to take part in a sporting event.
