Blender without a shadow of a doubt we can call a mini food processor. Kitchen blenders are very practical devices, with the help of which we can easily and quickly prepare smoothies, mousses, desserts, smoothies, as well as many other interesting dishes. There are many models of blenders available on the market. So how to choose the right one so as to be fully satisfied with it?

Hand and cup blenders

On the market we have the basic 2 types of blenders available: hand blenders and cup blenders. What are the differences between them?

Hand blenders, above all, are much smaller and handier, which makes them ideal if we need to prepare something in an instant. In the blink of an eye we can prepare soup for the baby, a smoothie or blend our favorite fruits. As a rule, hand blenders have low power, but it is possible to buy a cordless model, which guarantees us free work.

Cup blenders, on the other hand, are slightly more advanced equipment that will be suitable when preparing larger meals or drinks. This is due primarily to larger and more powerful motors - up to 2000 W. With their help you can make your favorite cocktail or dessert for the whole family, or prepare ingredients for soup or sauce. The capacity of the cup models is up to 2 liters, which really gives you a range of possibilities.

How to choose the power of the blender?

One of the most important aspects when buying an appliance should be power. Already before shopping, it is worth considering in depth what products we will use. Based on this, we will be able to more easily match the appropriate power to our needs.

Powerful cup models, whose power will be greater than 1200 watts, will work well when you want to properly puree hard products. They will also do great with thick mousses and other liquid molds.

In the case of hand blenders, we can consider models above 700 watts as high power, which can handle more demanding tasks.

Knives

Another important factor is the knives with which the device is equipped. First of all, this will have a huge impact on the ability and efficiency of chopping the product. Expecting a blender to have slightly more capabilities, it is good practice to purchase a model with two knives. This will significantly affect the speed and quality of blending.

The most advanced, however, are blenders where the two blades cut in two planes-horizontally and vertically. This is also a certain milestone that allows you to grind hard products even more efficiently.

Housing type

Based on the type of housing, we can divide blenders into two categories: plastic and metal. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

In the case of a metal casing, we get a much sturdier equipment, but also at the same time a lot heavier and more expensive. The weight can be a particular problem with hand blenders. However, it compensates for this by being more resistant to all kinds of damage.

And if we are talking about plastic housings, a big advantage is the low price and lightness of the device. Unfortunately, however, discoloration from soups, smoothies or mousses is quite common. The choice is really already a matter of buyer preference.

Modern features

The luxuriant technological development has also touched blenders. Modern models offer a number of additional functions that may come in handy in our kitchen:

  • Cooking function-is only possible with cup blenders. In this case, the base is also a hob. For example, after preparing all the ingredients for a soup, it is enough to wait until the dish is cooked. In a manual way, we are able to control the temperature.
  • Pulse mode- is a solution that allows you to mix ingredients together in a better way. The blender's rotation speeds up and slows down alternately, so you get perfectly blended ingredients.

Additional equipment-is it worth it?

Blenders, in addition to a number of modern functions, also give the opportunity to install additional equipment. It is often included with the purchase of the blender.

  • Shredder- is an excellent solution if you want to slice fruits or vegetables. It will also be much easier to shred hard products. It is also possible to grind meat.
  • Whisk- this is an ideal choice for people who love all kinds of creams and desserts involving whipped cream
  • Malaxer-This is a special one with modules, used for fine chopping of ingredients. Its use will be made especially by those who love vegetable salads or soups.

Summary

To sum up, when choosing a blender, you get two main types to choose from: handheld and cup blenders. In most cases, it is worth directing your choice to cup blender. They are much more pleasant and faster to use. We get a number of models, which are equipped with additional functions that may prove useful in our kitchen.
