Beet juice can be made in two ways. It can be made with either raw beets or pickled beets. However, each of these forms is characterized by a huge number of nutritional properties. It is recommended in particular for people striving to reduce their weight, as well as those fighting anemia. In addition, it is very effective in the fight against the so-called hangover. We present what properties beet juice has, and how and when to drink it.

Ingredients of beet juice

The key ingredient in beet juice is red beets, which are very easily available in Poland. Hence, prepared in many ways, although beet juice is just beginning to gain popularity. In fact, beets are not eaten raw, because they are characterized by hardness and have an earthy taste, but they have a whole range of very valuable nutritional properties. Additionally, it has organic acids (malic, citric, tartaric, oxalic). In addition, juice prepared from raw beet has polyphenols, carotenoids and glycosides, and is also a source of fiber.

Beet juice - the properties it possesses

Beet juice is very valuable for the human body. Its composition is rich in health-promoting substances, so it is dedicated primarily to people struggling with anemia, because iron and B vitamins have a beneficial effect on the circulatory system and the formation of red blood cells. In addition, the substances contained make it possible to lower blood pressure, and also reduce the level of bad cholesterol. Regular drinking of beet juice allows you to widen the lumen of blood vessels, which is a key element in the prevention of atherosclerosis. As a result, the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke, ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction, is reduced.

The presence of betanin makes beet juice show antioxidant, antiseptic as well as anti-inflammatory properties. It is worth consuming beet juice in the period of increased number of illnesses and developing inflammatory conditions. Beet juice can be successfully used as an element of a cough therapy, because it alleviates the symptoms and improves the functioning of the immune system. Beet juice - contraindications

Unfortunately, beet juice is not dedicated to everyone in large quantities. Its consumption should be abandoned by people struggling with rheumatism, kidney stones, as well as gout. The reason for this is the presence of oxalates, which lead to an exacerbation of the symptoms of these diseases. In addition, beet juice should not be drunk often by people who have low blood pressure, because in the long run it will lead to the development of hypotension. The key is to exercise moderation and limit the amount of juice you drink.

How should I drink beet juice?

A common consideration is how to drink beet juice. The best option is to drink chilled beet juice that is not diluted.

For those who cannot break to its natural taste, they can opt to add another vegetable or fruit juice. Alternatively, it can be diluted with water.

A regimen has been developed to gradually get used to its taste.

On the first day, make a drink with 20% as beet juice and 80% as water. On the next day, increase the juice content to 40%. In turn, on subsequent days, increase the ratio of beet juice to water. The dose should be adjusted based on observation of the body.
